The ancient techniques of Chinese medicine may be eligible for UNESCO World Heritage status.
The State Administration for Traditional Chinese Medicine has made an application, which will be discussed at this year's 29th World Heritage Conference to be held in Durban, South Africa.
Medicine is in the 'intangible' heritage category.
With 3,000-year history, the theory of this traditional healing method is already recognized in many countries around the world.
